YOGA- SPIRITUAL SIDE OF AYURVEDA

Yoga is the ancient Indian science to calm down all the vritti in our mind and brings us psychological healings. It heals all mental and emotional imbalances and takes us on a journey of enlightenment.  Yoga is not a set of asanas; it is more than that. It teaches us all yamas, niyamas and once we start living YOGA, then our ego subdues. It helps us to get to know our true selves and reach the spiritual path.

Both yoga and Ayurveda have based on principles of 5 elements – panchamahabuthas and sattva, rajas, and tamasggunas. Ayurveda and yoga consider how the body works like tissues, prana, digestion, and elimination, and connect to the effects of food and herbs on the body and mind.

It is very interesting to see how Ayurveda and yoga are interrelated and complete each other. In other words, Ayurveda and Yoga are one science that aims to bring harmony in our physical and emotional state of health. Staying healthy is vital for us to fulfill four aims of life: dharma, artha, kama, and moksha.
